Covina, California - Facts & Figures
Covina, California is named for the words "cove" and "vine," because a natural cove seemed to surround the old vineyards planted by early settlers in the area. Covina was the center of the Southern California Citrus Belt, and the fruits were the main portion of the economy there for more than 50 years. Today, downtown Covina is home to small business owners and experts in their individual wares. At one point, the town motto was "A Mile Square and All There" because everything you needed was so close by. Covina takes pride in its businesses and is loyal with its patronage.
