Orange County, California - Facts & Figures
Orange County, California has been found to have one of the healthiest economies in the state. In a study by the University of California, Irvine, Orange County was found to have the greatest job growth, highest median home values and the lowest unemployment rates of any county in Southern California. The highest performing areas of the county were Irvine, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, Laguna Beach and Newport Coast. These facts are encouraging considering that a few decades ago Orange County was the largest county in the country to have ever gone bankrupt. The OC is known for tourism and affluence, with Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm making their homes in the county, and "The OC" television show using the county as its setting.
