Towson is home to historic buildings including the Hampton National Historic Site that contains a beautiful mansion built in the late 18th century which features ancient paintings, antique furniture and a farmhouse. Trinity Episcopal Church is Towson's oldest standing church and was built with stone and dedicated in 1860. The city is also home to the U.S. Lacrosse Museum and National Hall of Fame and the Babe Ruth Museum. Babe Ruth was born in Towson.
