Mount Holly is a township in Burlington County, New Jersey. It was originally called Northampton in 1688 and was one of New Jersey's 104 initial townships. The township was renamed Mount Holly on November 6, 1931. It is home to Relief Fire Company No. 1, which is the oldest operating volunteer fire fighting company in the United States. Mount Holly is also the location of the National Weather Service's Weather Forecast Office for Philadelphia/Mount Holly. According to the 2010 Census, the population of Mount Holly declined by 1,192 people. Mount Holly has its own public school system.
