Teaneck, New Jersey, is technically a suburb of the New York metropolitan area. In its past, Teaneck has been the site of much activity as a crossroads for many types of transportation. It was a thoroughfare for both armies during the Revolutionary War, with forces occupying many of the homes there. After the war, Teaneck became a farming town, providing food to nearby New York.
